Through
writing both assignments about a blog and an infographic to new Seneca College
students, I have experienced challenges to convey thoughts by using different
formats in different genres of these assignments. In an assignment about a blog
to new Seneca College students, I interviewed with two Seneca College students by
asking questions about their educational experiences before enrolling in Seneca
College and their emotional experiences after the first semester in Seneca
College. While I wrote a blog to new Seneca College students, I had
difficulties to relate from interviews with two Seneca College students about
emotional experience during the first semester in Seneca College to advices about
adapting to new surroundings to new Seneca College Students. I used the
interviews with two students about emotional challenges during the first
semester as an example to support main ideas to advise to new Seneca College
students in a blog assignment. In an assignment about an infographic to new
Seneca College students, I had a challenge of starting this assignment because
I did not know the definition of an infographic at first and I was planning to
change main ideas from my blog assignment to different main ideas in my
infographic assignment. After I had an online session with the professor and
other students through the Skype, I comprehended about a method how to create
an infographic. I created an infographic by using a template from Canva and
images from Noun Project and described services in Seneca College in the
infographic assignment. In conclusion, although I have experienced challenges
to convey thoughts by using different formats in two transfer assignments, I
learn how to adjust to different genres from a blog to an infographic to
persuade the readers.
